The fake ideal...
Well, what I hate about my career? If I had to answer this question at the beginning of the semester, definitely I would said something very different from now. In the last two years I hated journalism because the real world and the work environment are very different from the ideal and dream of the profession. In this institute they teach us that journalism it’s the fourth state power or is the democracy guard dog… but surprise! that’s not real. And for that I hate the fake ideal of journalism because this feeds egos, struggles of power and later the disappointed is more bigger. I hate that the dream doesn’t represent the reality... well, it’s just a dream. In the reality the journalism is a work tool for economic power groups and I hate that. Maybe my answer sounds very dramatic and pessimist. Doing my thesis I have been able reconnect with what I like about journalism.
